Crohn's Disease Support Group

I woke up this morning feeling like I got hit by a truck in my sleep, everything hurts. I am walking very slow today. What's wrong with me? I think I need to be sitting in a hot tub, soaking the pain away. I'm in IL and if I use a friends hot tub then that means that I'm sitting in a hot tub on someones outside deck. It's only 40degrees here. If my hair gets wet then it will turn to ice! When that happens you're just asking for the flu.

There's usually enough heat/steam coming off the water to keep your head warm even if your hair gets wet. Best time of year to use a hottub in Alaska is in the dead of winter- relaxing in the hot water outside when it's below zero is where it's at!

I have to add my few cents to this thread because this is a topic near and dear to me. In addition to crohn's I have tendonitis. Hydro therapy is huge in alleviating it. I'd had stomach issues but hadn't gotten the crohns diagnosis at that time of the following.

A few years ago my hand/elbow/shoulder surgeon wrote me a prescription for a hot tub. I could have taken it as a tax deduction as a medical expense because he wrote the script. Couldn't afford it, never bought one. In a better financial position now, saw the same Dr ealier this year and asked for a new script since I could now afford one,...he told me the insurance companies lobbied and he can no longer write it. I have to get administered professional hydro therapy and my insurance will only cover 12 visits a year. God love the insurance company lobbyists (sarcasm alert)

Guess I have to keep farting in the tub of hot water for the time being. Fortunately there is no shortage of gas

LOL! JT, that was funny. But seriously I really need a hot tub stat! Porknang says that she will join me. And she's bringing stronger pain meds to share? Awww how sweet of her. Who else is coming to soak it up with us? The more the merrier.
