I have recently been diagnosed with Crohns after, like so many others of you, going through years of not knowing what was going on. I also have endometriosis. The doctors have always chalked my pain up to my endometriosis. I had a sygmoid done several years ago and they said my bleeding was coming from internal hemroids. They also thought I was lactos intolerant, which would come and go, but never made any sense to me. Back in April I had an emergency appendectomy. When the pathology report came back from my appendix it showed signs of Crohns. That's when they sent me to the GI who then did a colonoscopy.

He first put me on the prednisone which I DID NOT like the way it made me feel. I'm currently taking Asacol and another med for irritable bowel. It doesn't seem to helping. Through out the day I will get very light headed several times, not sure if it's from the meds or not. Is anyone taking Asacol and experiencing the lighted headedness?

I'm still learning on what and what not to eat. My biggest problem is breakfast. I try to eat healthy with lots of protein and few carbs, which it seems the things I can eat are full of carbs. Any suggestions on what has worked for you guys for breakfast????

Thanks. Yes Milk is the worst for me. I go back to the doctor next week. We'll see what says about the light headedness.

That's what I've found I can eat, poptarts and muffins. I guess I just have to get over the being healthy and eating the right stuff and focus on eating what I can eat that don't make me hurt and sick. Takilra, you are one of the lucky ones on eating salads. I love them but they hate me. Being new to this I'm having a hard time eating and cooking. I'm married and have 3 children. I what they like for meals but alot of it I can't eat or I try to and then regret it later. I don't enjoy going out to eat or eating at someone's house anymore.

Hi all! My son is 10 and has CD. He is actually allergic to Asacol...went blind and passed out after complaining of lightheadedness. He is on Mercaptopurine (6MP) but is no longer in remission. We are currently fighting the insurance company for Remicaid infusions.

With regards to breakfast....He seems to do well with scrambled eggs and toast. A good grab-and-go breakfast is yogurt with live cultures. We both have problems with milk so we switched to Lactaid years ago.

I downloaded a recipe book for Crohn's on my Kindle and made Tuna Burgers on the George Foreman last night and he loved it! Used the recipe for homemade tartar sauce, too!

i don't really like going out to eat either...mostly because i am not going to pay $$$ for a fricken salad i can make for next to nothing at home. Mom does make something for me when we do family dinners.(it's kinda cute) this year is my turn to do x-mas dinner for the family..lol should i make one big salad?? turkey for sure..not sure what else i am going to make though..
