MDJunction to me

aTinaL"To me, Mdjunction comes down to motivation. The support and information I have found here motivated me to take a very proactive stance regarding my illness. This led me to find medication and doctors that are giving me my life back.
More important than even the motivation, though, is the friendship I have found at MDJ. I have made some of the best friends of my entire life right here in this group. Even though most of us have never met, it feels as if we have known each other for years.
If Angels walk among us, and I believe that they do, most of them are here at MDJ.

I don't get diahrea but because I have had 2 bowel resections and have several strictures at the moment it's hard to tell. I also have some scar thickening but the Drs wan't to get the Crohn's under control before they even address that issue. I don't vomit and am overweight so when I read about you guys having issues with weight loss and vomiting it's hard to get my head around. I do have a poor diet though so am going to see a dietician in the New Year. My Crohn's was diagnosed through a biopsy when I had a colonoscopy and has been confirmed twice since. I am from Australia and an currently on Prednisolone and am giving myself an injection once a week with a drug called Methotrexate which I am not sure is dispensed under the same name in the States. Does anyone else have weight issues the same as mine? Thanks

I am also overweight and do not have the typical symptoms of Crohn's like diareah and pain. I have had my diagnosis confirmed as well and they said that everyone is affected differently and since it is a mild case and only affects the end of the small bowel, I don't have the malanutrition issues that most have which is why I have no problem keeping weight on. (Unfortunatly!!) Prednisolone will also cause you to gain weight and look "puffy", so there are factors there.

thanks Angelchat. I have put on over 5 kilos (10lb 10 ozs)in just over 2 weeks which I thought might be the Prednisolone but I have been pretty slack to. My last dr had me on a high fibre diet when I wasn't in remission and I think that has really not helped with the weight. I then went on a low residue diet and the eating plans just went out the window.
