Hi Guys

Have had to start back on the horrible Pred. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to work? Haven't been on it for a few months so can't remember. Does anyone have any input about what else you can take during this time of flareup? Also, I know you have to take them with food but is it ok to have them with Protein drinks instead? I am on Methotrexate and Plaquenil as well. Thanks guys. Don't have to tell you how I'm feeling as I know you've all been there before!! OX

When Prednisone actually worked for me, I could feel a positive affect to the Crohn's symptoms within 48 hours. The last time I went on it, I was on it for almost two weeks before I gave up and accepted that it simply didn't work for me anymore. Wish I had more info and experience regarding drug interactions, but I did just fine on a protein shake while on Prednisone- maybe that's why I never gained weight when on the drug?
Just another patient trying to chase down some good health.

I believe the important thing is to not have an empty stomach. Otherwise it could make the belly ache worse. I think the protien shake should be fine.

Any time I have taken prednisone I have felt a difference after a day or two.

Good decisions come from experience.
Experience comes from bad decisions.
