I have recently returned from a trip to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester where I was being seen for Hypertrophic Neuropothy of the sciatic nerve. After several neurological tests and a visit with a nerve specialist, I was told that the problems I have with my leg are from the Crohn's. The GI specialist said that my GI had me on the wrong medication and switched me from Pentasa to Entocort. He also stated that I have a very mild case of Crohn's only effecting the last 7 cm or so of the small intestine.

I have several family members with Crohn's and none of them have the symptoms I have. I am tired all the time, but my bloodwork shows that I am not anemic or malnourished. I have episodes where my right leg hurts so bad, I can barely walk. I feel like I'm in my first trimester of pregnancy as I am nauseouse all the time and have days where I spend all day in the bathroom vomitting. So, I am wondering if my Crohn's is so mild, how can it be causing all of the. Has anyone else had odd symptoms and how have they found relief?

Please tell me how they related your leg pain to your Crohn's. I have been told for years that I have a mild case of Crohn's and every ache they attribute to it.

I've never suffered from diarehea but have had horrible nausea and stomach pain. After 14 years of it I pushed hard enough and the GI doc ran a scope down my throat and found moderately sever gastritis. No wonder I was uncomfortable! I take one Prilosec daily and feel sooo much better. Docs always look for Crohn's first and sometimes don't check further. Good luck!

I was also told I had some inflamation in the stomach attributed to gastritis and was put on 40 mg daily of Nexium, but have been on that for over two months, but still no releif.

I tried Nexium with no results, and found the generic version of Prilosec works great. Since it's generic my insurance pays 100%.

it's worth asking your doc about it.

My dad took Prilosec and had no relief from it, but I guess everyone's different.

I'm on the prilosec as well. It seems to help with the pain of the gastritis inflamation a little but that's it. I still feel "full" all the time and not hungry with my gastritis. Like someone said above, it works differently for people...

We have no insurance so money is always a factor when it comes to meds, but my husband took Prilosec for 2 years when we had insurance, I have found that the WalMart generic version works just as good although he does have to take 2 pills daily instead of 1 but $21.00 per month beats the $150+ that the pharmacy wants to charge me for the precription version!

All the information I have been reading shows says that joint pain and lower back pain can be attributed to Crohn's and I wonder if that could include the legs. It's hard sometimes because some Doctors will blame everthing on one condition and others treat you separately for symptoms that relate to just one. I am quite sure that I have been given drugs for joint and soft tissue pain that I have not needed. I have been on a drug called over here Naprosyn 1000 SR which I have just found out stirs up and aggrivates any Chron's activity.
