MDJunction to me

djfilippone"Before I found this site I felt so alone.  Watching my daughter struggle with IH and being treated like she had two heads from doctors.    I have plenty of family and friends but there was nobody that really knew what she was going through.
I not only have support and love from others who will listen and share their
story, but I have made some forever friends.  Having this support site does make a difference to many.

Good luck with it! Hope it helps.

Thank you. Is there any medication better than remicade or is the last resort surgery?

I don't know. I'm getting remicade. I've never had anything else. I had the surgery first, but my circumstances were different. When I was diagnosed, it was very advanced and surgery was a must. If you find any good answer, please let me know. Thanks Jay.

I saw my Dr yesterday (one of them anyway) and he is looking to put me on remicade or humira in about 3 months. In oz you have to be on Methotrexate and another drug that is not working for 6 months before you're allowed to go on Remicade, Humira or Infliximab. I have been on Mehtotrexate, Salofak and am now on Plaqunil (hydroxychloroquine) for three months with no improvement. If you don't get Government approval you have to pay about $1700 per infusion/injection. He is very hopeful that one of them will really help me. Feel very flat at the moment. The pain and Diarr have just been too much. Would be very interested to see how you go on this drug Jay
