My son was diagnosed w/crohn's 2 yrs ago at the age of 11. He has been on many different types of meds. He started Remicade infusions in May 2010 and they completely turned his life around. He was so healthy - he picked up 50lbs that were so desperately needed. He's grown 8 inches. Now, however, it appears that the infusions have begun to fail. He hasn't been able to attend school, he has feel good times, and then as quickly as they come, they go. What can we do now?

There are other biologic injections such as cimzia and Humira. It may last longer than remicade.

Unfortunately we've seen this story many times. I was also on Remicade for about a year before it stopped working for me. I'm now getting Cimzia shots once a month. So far so good.

I'm sorry your son is hurting. What is his GI suggesting?

my son has a GI that is very hard to get in to see. He is the only pediatric specialist in our area. We are awaiting our app't w/him on 3/9. In the meantime, we are battling w/insurance to have a Prometheis test done. Joe has missed so much school again. It's very frustrating.
