Hello fellow Crohn kings,

My name is Joe - Crohn Joe for you

I was DX with Crohn about 10 years ago. what first seemed like the end of the world turned out to be OK (at least i stopped going to a different doc every week and they stoped diagnosing me with IBS too).

I'm very happy you guys started this Crohn group and i am looking forward to meet others who are dealing with this life changing illness.

I'm sure being in a place like this would help us all to know more and live better.

now, lets hear you guys.....

CrohnJoe

I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 9/2007. Had some symptoms of it for a couple of years but was constantly told I had IBS. Recently admitted to hospital with extreme lower right sided pain. Now I am told that I have Crohn's of the appendix as well as the cecum/ilieum and jejunum.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's back in 1993, they thought I had a peptic ulcer, IBS and some of everything else. Had a bowel resection in 05, now I'm having problems again.

I also was diagnosed with IBS for 20 years before my crohns was found. I remember saying so many times that I can't believe it would not cause permanent damage somehow but they said no. In defense of the docs I think it is just too hard to diagnose at times, because they did do colonoscopys in previous years and didn't see it until about 5 years ago.

I am on remicade and imuran for it and am still sick everyday but not like I am without the remicade. It has helped a lot. The crohn's just causes other health problems as it goes along so there is always something new. I guess I should consider myself interesting and every changing.

Before I was diagnosed with Crohn's the doctors were convinced I had a bacteria living in my intestines, or just a simple stomach flu. The ignorance and laxidazical attitude of my then current physician wound me up in the emergency room with dehydration so bad. I was so week I couldn't even brush my own hair. From the ER I was then diagnosed by a rookie with pancreatitis. Which, for those of you who aren't familiar, occurs in alcoholics and drug users, I am none of the two. It was from there I was sent to a GI doctor whom after sometime made the final conclusion on Crohn's. Diagnosis is a long road, as it is to recovery. My heart goes out to everyone of you who has had to endure suffering as I have.
