Hi guys, Had a coloscopy yesterday and my GI says that he thinks I have ileitis not Crohn's. When I try to get information on the net it all goes back to CD. I have been questioning whether I should be in this Forum but the symptoms I have are all similar to CD and the treatment is the same. I also had a biospy a few years ago that came back "Consistant with Crohn's disease" Would appreciate any help or information you can give me.

Of course you belong here! As you said, the symptoms are the same, the treatments the same, who cares what name they put on it ("a rose by any other name...."). We are still here to support and be supported by one another. I had a GI once who went back and forth about weather or not I had crohns, finally I told him I did not care what name he gave it, just treat it!!! Make me feel better!! So stay with us and I really hope you get to feeling better.

Connie

Ileitis is Crohn's. It just refers to the actual place along the intestines that is being affected. That's what I have/had. I had surgery to remove the ileium. Now I have to take vitamin B12 because thats the part of your intestine that absorbs that nutrient. =[

I did not get these replies as I did something with my emails so did not get notice of your replies. Thanks guys! Connie I appreciate what you said. Pain is pain. I just saw a local Dr the other day and he said the same thing. The treatment for both is the same. Merkaba I have had my ileocecal valve removed and I have problems with extreme tiredness so maybe I'll check out getting B12 injections when I next see my DR.
