OK, so this flare has gone on a long time. Since February I have had a colonscopy (my 10th one!), EGD, CT scan, multipule labs test over the months, have been treated for pancreatis, put on new meds, nothing is helping. I got a call yesterday with the latest lab results, and my sed rate is slightly elevated, but "Your disease in not active right now". Well, that's good news, but why do I still hurt so much?!!!Sad

I had bad cramping last night, could not get to sleep, then awoke to severe diarrhea, nausea and pain.

Also, (this is really gross, and certainly not the kind of thing I can talk to friends about),but is anyone else able to tell what comes back out? I mean, is it normal to see in the toilet the food you ate yesterday? I mean, able to identify carrots, tomatos, undisolved pills ect.?

This is the worst in 20 years of this disease.

I'm so tired and weary...

Sorry to hear that, I haven't had the problem with the food thing, but the undisolved pills i have, and serverly goin to the bathroom feeling sick is my very day life with the pain since they haven't found a medicine to get my Crohn's undercontrol. if the medication isn't disolving mostly like it means that you aren't getting the medication in your system to deal with the pain and what not. My doctor had to switch me to new medication cause of that problem cause everything i ate, came back out of me before it could get disolved, I would call your doctor.

i feel for you, colonoscopy procedures are not fun. i too get the symptoms and food that i ate the day before goes straight through me also, i notice the seeds from kiwi fruit. maybe it something to do with a fast metabolism?? i guess the only thing you can do is stay positive.

I see the casings of my Asacol pills every so often. I asked my doctor about it. She assured me I was getting the meds. The casing splits open and realeases the meds but does not always dissolve fully. I don't know if this is true of other meds.

You might want to avoid those raw vegetables for a while. They are harder to digest. If you are in a flare they may be more than your body can handle right now.

I hope tonight is a better night for you.

Good decisions come from experience.
Experience comes from bad decisions.

Hi chi, when I was on asacol I got the same thing. The pills are designed to open at a certain point in the digestive track. So that is why you see the red shells. Weird but true.

Yes, I had this with Asacol, but I am not on that anymore, it is other several other pills that I am having this trouble with. Anyone with anything other than asacol?

Thanks everyone!
