I was wondering if anyone knew what the latest research shows on MP6 and its treatment of Crohn's disease. Is anyone currently taking MP6- how do you feel? Thank you!

Hello SFLBee, and welcome to the group. I am currently taking 6-MP(Mercaptopurine). I've been on it since my resection in 05. Right now i am not feeling to well, it makes me feel kind of nauseated and dizzy sometimes. Overall I think its just barely doing the trick for me as my flare doesnt seem to be improving. They've tried raising and lowering the dosage, but its just not working for me.

Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean its not going to work for you, I'm just stating my experience with it. Are you taking it now or about to take it??

David,

David, thank you for answering! I had a resection in 05 as well, and have only had to take Asecol. I recently had a colonoscopy and my doctor said I would be heading to more surgeries unless I do something more. He suggested MP6 and I meet with him in 2 weeks to discuss this treatment plan. I have been researching, but are there any questions I should be asking him? Thanks!

Hey SFLBee,

I am currently taking MP6 about 10mg a day. It seams to be working becuse my doctor raised my dose from 5mg to 10mg. So far it has been alright with the exception of being tired all the time. Though i've only been on it for 2 months now.

Amber
