Hi there - My son had "skull surgery" when he was 7 months old - I knew when he was tiny that his head was "shaped funny, like a hot dog bun" - of course as a new first-time mom what did I know... Hellooooooo, I was right! at 7 months of age he had sagittal craniosynostosis surgery - that was in 2000, so it's been 8 years. My son went through four days in the hospital (went from baby food back to the bottle), then came home. A couple weeks later he got his bright blue helmet, because he loved the St Louis Blues (well, I loved them so ha!). Anyway - he's just fine. His head is a bit long, but growing beautifully. We have large hat sizes in our family, so he doesn't look "weird" at all. Surgery day was scary as all get-out - but they did their job and he's just fine! Okay - boss just walked in - gotta go. |
