About this condition! I have had this forever it seems! Used to think I was having a heart attack when I was very young, like in my 20s. I usually just take steroids when it is bad and NSAIDS when it is mild.

Hope others find us here!

It's very nice that there is a group for this. I had never heard of it before I was diagnosed in 06. At that time my doctor said "Oh you have Costochondritis" She have me an NSAID and that was it. I "ASSUMED" that when I felt better it was all gone.

Good day to you all. It is nice to find this group.

Like you mcbeth, I assumed that when I felt better it would be all gone. And mamanordy, I can't tell you how many times I went to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack.

the last time i was in the ER the nurse and doc was like well it goes away its short term like they didnt realize that it comes and goes, basically like flare ups. i think this is one of most misunderstood things out there. people dont realize how painful it is to have it. if anyone needs any info or any help let me know and i will do my best to help.

Wow, i just got home from a 4 day stint at the hospital. I was having chest pain for 10 days, and with a strong family history of heart disease i decided to check it out on sun a.m. well, four days later i am home with this diagnosis! I am still in pain and they tell me to take advil. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy i don't have any heart problems like my family but, no treatment? and no relief? I am so new to this, I can't imagine going the rest of my life without pain management for this condition!! I am 45 years YOUNG and otherwise very healthy! Happy to find this group though!!
