Hi there,

My name is Lori and I'm 27 and I'm living with C.A.D. I have had it for 2 years now. April 15, 2007 just 3 days after I gave birth to my son I had a massive heart attack. The doctors said that I shouldn't be alive. My left main artery was 100% blocked. They call it the widow maker. What do you mean I should be dead? Dead at 26? No way. So here I am now 9 months later and still not sure what I went through. I'm on here to find people that have gone through what I have. I'm not sure if it's my age or what not but I feel like it was nothing. I mean I'm alive so it really hasn't hit me. I should know more then I do. I mean I should be really trying to get in shape and lose weight but it's hard. I love my family and we are very close but if they aren't going thru what I am it's hard to express to them anything. Ok now that I have just went on and on about nothing I'm going to end this now...SORRY

Lori

Hi - I am new to this support group. I am a 54 year old nurse and thought that i exercised enough and swam 3 days a week and was 52 when i was on my weekend off when with no history of heart disease had a massive heart attack and cardiac arrest( like you lori - a widowmaker). still feel not sure what happened or occas scared it will happen again and taking meds for the rest of my life. Joined this group to hear from others like me. please write back. Wish all of u the best as i have found heart disease is lift altering and alot of times life ending (sad but true).
