Hi there,

This really is new to me I had a heart attack in March '09 at 37yrs old. I had a stint put in. Since then I've been on just a bunch of meds and I have some questions:

So do statins cause joint and muscle pain?? I've had the blood work and all is good I've been told this is common side effect...

Weight loss meds holding it up? I'm eating and exercising right and yet the weight isn't moving I lost 30lbs and then that has stopped

Memory loss....what the hell is with that??

Doc's tell you to eat right and exercise and to take these meds and they tell you about the big dangerous side effects but seem to leave out the other "smaller" ones.

Like I said I'm totally new to this world and hope like hell I won't have another MI....thanks for reading any input is great!!

Thanks

yes yes they do in some people . I personaly cannot take statens as the pain is too much to allow me to function.

This is pretty much a universal expeience with all who make the effort to loose weight. The first 20 or so pounds are quick and easy then the normal loss is about 1 pound a week.

But some blood preasure meds do make it a bit harder to loose weight, however not impossible

Doc's tell you to eat right and exercise and to take these meds and they tell you about the big dangerous side effects but seem to leave out the other "smaller" ones.

They certianly doWhistling Every pharmacy dispencing to the public has to furish upon request a drug fact sheet which details side affects and enteractions. Major pharicies and drug manufacturers furnish much of this info on the internet

any time,jennifer

Doc has me on bata blockers, now. No pain but they lower BP by holding fluid in the body which causes water retention and makes me feel tired and trashy. they also make weight loss harder than the stantins do. So if you can tolorate the stantins you will come out better in the end.

I've been told to try concentrated tart cherry juice. It seems to be working my joint and muscle pain isn't as harsh as it was before. It is about 20 a bottle but on top of the cost of meds what's another 20 bucks......the weight is very slow to come off but it is I guess slow is better than not at all!
