Hello. The weekend is here and once again my to do list is humongous. A little at a time, it ain't going no where, that's for sure.

Hope everyone is having a little better weather and are breathing better. Some of those day when the humidity gets up to 90, I feel like I am suffocating. It's gross. I love hot weather but not with that much humidity. Sure makes the weeds grow fast.

I got a couple of new books about COPD so will let you know if I learn any new tricks.

Oh and finally, my Pulmo signed for my handicapp parking. Now will see how long it takes the state to send it back.

Sue

Hi everyone! It's the weekend again. Hope everyone is having a good one. I'm staying in where it's dry. That's right, rain again........... I did manage to get a good walk in, although shorter than usual, and it did start raining on us. We made our usual weekend trip to the farmer's market for fresh vegetabes, made our purchase, and returned to our car before the downfall. The grass in our yard is getting to be a foot tall! So glad you finally got your sign off for a handicapp sticker, Sue. I know you were wanting one, and it will sure make things easier. I wouldn't mind having one myself, just for when you can't find a parking space! Hope everyone is well!

We are having terrible weather, it's the coldest winter in years! Since Friday we have had more than 20 inches of rain, there is flooding in many areas.

With the rain and cold came strong winds, yesterday it was blowing at gale force, nearly 50mph!

So I have not been able to put my nose out the door since last Thursday. I stocked up on bread, milk, etc so that I need not go to the shops. Also made some bean soup, veggie soup and a nice strong curry which I put in small containers in the freezer.

I have been dressing like an Eskimo as my house is very cold. As I sit here I'm wearing long-johns, warm trousers, socks, vest, wooly top, a jacket and slippers! Oh yes and a scarf as well!!And when it gets really bad, a beanie on my head.

Think I'm getting cabin fever...I have phoned family and friends, but it's not the same as speaking to somebody in person.

Trying to exercise a bit with my hand weights, but lack motivation! Gym and water aerobics are not possible as I'm stuck indoors. So wish for warmer weather, but our Spring only starts in September.

Thanks for listening to all my gripes, suppose it is hard to picture the cold when you folks are getting heat waves! Lately the weather seems to be extreme all over the world, either too hot, cold, dry or flooded. not to speak of tornadoes and earthquakes, which we luckily don't have here in South Africa.

Well, keep cool and I will try to keep warm!

Venus, that sounds horrible. What kind of heat do you have in your house? Just curious. I'm a little freeze baby so I bundle up like that in the winter too. Your soup sure sounds good.

Thank the man upstairs for our computers huh? Wouldn't we all go crazy stuck in the house all that time with no computer?

Try to stay warm girl.

Hi Venus! I had to smile while reading your post. Totally reminded me of Italy in winter. The electricity was too expensive too run cept for several hours. The boys and I would huddle around a small electric heater in the kitchen. They would do homework, and I would write letters. We would be sitting there with our outer wear on! We've been having cabin fever ourselves cause of our rain. Today has been clear and sunshiny, so we got out a little this morning. Maybe you need to set up a home gym. All you really need is a treadmill and/or a stationery bike. I love mine! I used to go to the gym, but to tell you the truth, it's much nicer to work out whenever I feel like it. Anyway, your soups sound good! Do you have any close neighbors? [September isn't really that far away.]

My hubby is almost always hot so the thermostat has been set on 70. He's sitting there complaining that it's warm and I am wearing a hooded sweat jacket and covered up with two fleecy throws.

I don't want to see the utility bill this month.

Good thing about the weather is - it changes. Just when you think you can't stand the heat or cold any longer a new season comes along.

I think the perfect place to live would have a daily temperature of between 68 and 72 degrees.

Oh, yeah, and to make life just a little more exciting - the A/C in my car is on the Fritz. I hate that guy named Fritz!!! I have a friend named Murphy too. Murphy is a little gray cloud that is everywhere I am. If the weather calls for partly cloudy with a chance of showers - the shower is directly over my car. I don't mind - I figure if God keeps watering me - I might grow. On the other hand - short people stay dry longest in the rain. Yep - that's me.

Love to all,

Gail
