hi everybody - my problems started in 1980, my blood pressure started to rise uncontrolably. over the next two years i became dangerously ill with a blood pressure reading of 220 by 170. my potasium levels dropped dangerously low, no matter what drugs were tried nothing seemed to help. no scanners in the early 80s and doctors who had never seen anyone with this condition. i was eventually taken into hospital and after numerous tests was found to have a small tumour on my adrenal glands resulting in a bilateral adrenalectomy, but no keyhole surgery then so i had a twelve inch scar across my stomach.i have been on steroids for the last 26 years and i would be very pleased to hear from anyone who is in a similar situation. keeping positive from mitchell

Mitchell,

Hi. Sorry to hear that you had to go through all of that, and still are. Im not having as severe high blood pressure as you did/do have. My BP is slightly elevated 140/90 and higher some days and sometimes it is 117/72. My body does what it wants. I wrote my story in the members story section if you were interested to take a look at it. However i hope that you are feeling better than you did back then, and that you find someone who can relate a little better to your situation.

Samantha
