Hi I'm Lindsey I'm 20 years old and I am 21 weeks pregnant with my first child I live in Nashville TN At 20 weeks I went to my OB and got and ultrasound done to find out the sex of my baby(on tuesday), found out i was having a boy and there was something wrong.. she sent me to a specialist the very next day(wednesday) and he gave me some ideas of what he thought was wrong.. they kept saying CDH and or CCAM (which is in the lungs) and then the specialist recommended i go to Cincinnatti Childrens Hospital to get some test done, the next day Cinci called me with an appointment the fallowing day(friday). So Thursday night me and my mother drove to Cinci and spent the entire next day at the fetal care unit there. i got two MRIs and an echo done then at the end of the day they took me into a room with all the doctors and gave me the diagnosis.. My little man was diagnosed with CDH of the left side, and also hyper inflation of his left lung as well. BUT his heart is healthy and the quick result for the amniocentesis came back fine! they said that his case is different from most because he has both problems.. basically the hyper inflation is liquid filling up the lung making it bigger than it should be which also pushes on his heart.. i have attached images of the MRI that shows the liver his lung and some other things.. and i will post the numbers (his lung to head ratio) and all the percentages soon.. I think for my age and my lack of expierence im handling this pretty well i have a great family and a great God. I just would really appreciate hearing other peoples expierences and like having someone to talk to about it.. Thanks a bunch Lindsey |
