Hi Everyone,

Your idea for a dedicated NDPH website sounds great !!

We’ll be happy to help you once you guys get it going. I think your website together with the support group here would be a great help to others (and yourselves ).

As Alon and I told Joanna, We hope to have the support group up by the end of next week.

I’ll need your advice for the group:

1. What color should the group be?

2. What image represents NDPH best? (like the masks in the bipolar group - http://www.mdjunction.com/bipolar).

3. we will be looking for moderators and contributors for the forums and articles (it can be personal experience, guide to others or anything else related to headaches) – let me know if you want to.

I’ll keep you posted on the group.

Feel free to contact me (forum or PM) anytime,

roy

Thanks so much, Roy (and Alon, too)! I'm excited to have the group. Of course, we have our little group on this post, but having a more official group will help keep things more organized.

As far as your questions (which I hope others will respond to, as well, since this is something for all of us who are involved with these NDPH posts), here are my ideas:

1. Color: how about the burgundy color that goes with the headache ribbon?

2. Image: I was thinking something that doesn't look too upsetting (ie. an image of someone in a lot of head pain) - maybe even something cartoon-y of someone with a headache that could be humorous?

3. I could help out with being some type of moderator. I think anyone in the group could assume that any moderator-type in the group with NDPH/headache might have a bad day or two but we'd do our best

I think burgundy is very appropriate and a great suggestion Joanna. How about your image but with a red slash through it so when someone sees it they see "NO HEADACH"?

Jasmine, I know you will come through with a terrific website. Would you be willing to add a section on what exactly NDPH is - for those of us who think we belong here but don't know for sure.

Are tireness and brainfog common symptoms of NDPH?

Be well!

Jasmine, on second thought, a section on NDPH probably isn't necessary. After writing my last post, I thought I would keep surfing the internet on NDPH. There is a lot of good stuff out there, so to re-do what is already available could take you away from more important things. Perhaps just an over-view of NDPH would be enough should someone come across the website and wonder what they've found.

What I found suprised me. Andwoo suggested that maybe I had another form of daily chronic headache. Looking over the information, I have to agree with him. Thank you andwoo for nudging me into looking further.

What I found in NDPH are similar experiences, expecially daily headache lasting years. And there are some things about NDPH that don't jive, like remembering the exact date of occurance. Here's what it looks like I may have... chronic cluster headache with frequent tension headaches and occasional migraines. All this made worse by Excedrin rebound.

I have learned a lot from the few days I've been logging in. Thank you Joanna for getting this forum started. Again, thank you andwoo for sparking my curiosity. I will pop in every now and then to see how everybody is doing, but I think I'll see if I can find a forum for those 5% of us with chronic cluster headaches.

Remember - make choices about your life as if you didn't have a headache. Go ahead and marry, have children, build a career, and have fun! I don't know if you can do all that with NDPH, but try. I will get a burgundy ribbon and wear it with hope4u.

Beautifully spoken hope4u (besides the statement about popping ONLY every now and then…)

I think we all agree that Joanna’s burgundy suggestion is great.

I’ll get some images for you guys to say what you think, later this week.

Please take drop in, introduce yourselves, help and get help 

If you have any idea or suggestion (or find a bug…) let me know.

I know exactly how you feel. I woke up on Sat. am, 5/31/03 w/ the worst headache of my life & was diagnosed w/ NDPH. W/i the first yr., I was hospitalized 3 times & was in an outpatient IV drug program @ Michigan Head & Neck Institute & nothing has helped me. I am on 500 mg of Topamax, 2400 mcg of Actiq & Ultracet a day & my pain levels still fluctuate between a 6 & a 9 daily. (To me, I would never say my pain is a 10 because as soon as I say that, I'm sure it will get worse!) I was told @ the beginning that there is no cure for NDPH, that sometimes they can help people w/ meds & sometimes they can't, but what works for 1 person doesn't work for the next 99 people in the door. I have lost my job & my life as I knew it, so I know exactly what you are talking about. I have never been in the kind of pain I have experienced every day for the past 4 yrs. & I can't imagine living the rest of my life like this. I am 42 yrs. old, so this began when I was 38, & you don't get any more used to it as time goes on. My husband understands somewhat because he suffers from migraines & he spends every day w/ me, but nobody can really understand what you're going through. If you have friends that have stuck by you, you are really lucky.
