Hello everyone, I was assaulted by a student and am enjoying the effects of that trauma. There are three areas in my back that give me pain and I have a pain that runs down my leg. I did have a CAT scan of the lumbar region, but it showed only minimal bulging (1-2MM ) . My doctor says I can only feel one pain at a time, so it is not possible to feel three areas of discomfort. I would love to talk with someone who as had back problems and what they did to correct it.

Well drohan,

Let me tell you, it is very possible to feel more than one pain at a time. I don't know what your doc is on about. I have back and neck pain, it often radiates down my arms and legs. I feel pain in my neck, my back, my head, my hips, my shoulders....ect. all at the same time. The back takes time to heal, so give it a chance. But things that help if you have the money or insurance to cover it is: gentle chiropractic work, deep tissue massage, and emotional therapy. I say the therapy because our emotions are reflected in our body, and you can see especially when there is an injury. The combined healing of body and soul works. But if you are still suffering emotionally (you might not even realize it) the body will not be able to heal correctly, or keep the healing when it starts.

I am really sorry this assult happened, please keep us posted on your progress. Have you tried water therapy?

Hi! I am new here too. I have Fibromyalgia, but suffer from a head and spinal injury. A Neurologist who did tests on me said I had no nerve damage. Well, I have been in intolerable pain. When I went to a new pain management doctor, he repeated the same test and said I have severe nerve damage! That is a testimony to the necessity of second opinions. From what I have been told, you CAN have pain in more than one place in your back, because each area of your spine controls different parts of your body. I have problem in the cervical and lumbar area. The cervical causes pain in my shoulder and arm. The lumar causes pain in my lower back and down my leg.

Good luck to you. You know when something is not right in your body, follow your instincts.[b]
