I am new to theis site. I am currently in the black pit of almost uncontrollable panic attacks. I have been dealing with this for 14 years and it seems that about once every 7 years it gets uncontrollable without high doses of klonipan (which is a daily part of my medicine anyway) but now am on the fun 8 mg of xanax for the panic and sometimes it doesnt touch the panic. It is so scary. i would appreciate encouragement from anyone as it seems this will never pass, even though my ratonal mind knows it will. Thanks!!!And many blessings to you who are suffering from whatever you may be suffering from. I will just be happy to be able to be alone again without being terrified.

Hello Hollyoweeney,

Welcome to the site!

Do you think it's possible that your body has built up a tolerance to the Klonopin? If so, have you and your doctor discussed trying some different medication?

Do you have a known trigger for your attacks?

I am actually looking into medication for anxiety myself. I've had a handful of panic attacks over the last few years and don't wish them on my worst enemy.

No, no known triggers and this time is really bad. Dont want to be alone or anything. They happen 5 or 6 times a day and scare me to this day even though i have been dealing with this so long but my depression is also in a bad spot and it all just feels hopeless. I am not sure about the klonipan but am also taking a high dosage of xanax until I improve and then will wean off that. I have taken ativan before but Klonipan and xanax seem to work better. I have a love/hate relationship with xanax i love it because it dulls the panic but i hate to have to take it and go through the whole weaning process again. Just be sure to get ahead of yours if you can. God Bless, Holly.

I've heard somen pretty bad things about the meds used for anxiety and depression. What makes it more complex is that I'm breastfeeding so I want to be extremely careful about what I do take. Thankfully, I don't suffer from depression and for the most part the panic attacks are under control so I don't HAVE to be on anything to be able to function...but a break from the chronic worrying and unnecessary and unfounded anxiety would be nice.

Pretty much all antidepressants and antianxiety meds have a bad rap. I only use them to get through the tough times and right now is really bad.....then I wean off.....just imagine a continuous panic attack that never leaves and for the last 4 days thats what my life has been but I started celexa for anxiety but it takes a little while so trust me, I will do what ever it takes to get through this but I only follow doctors orders and I have a very good dr....but be very careful breastfeeding for sure.....talk to you later, Holly

I can tell you I have been suffering with panic attacks for over 10 years. It was a daily thing all day long constant panic. I felt crazy and scared most of the time. when I was 23 I finally got prescribed Klonipin and it has helped me so much. I still get panic attacks probably once a month but at this moment in my life I feel too that it's starting up again. I mean I do have many things going on. My husband is bipolar and the list goes on. So I don't know what's triggering it. I hate them and I take klonipin o.5mg 3 times a day sometimes more if needed. Right now I feel like it's not doing the job it once did. But I read books on positive thinking and read books about God. I think I need God and Faith that's what i think will take this evil thing away and give my mind some peace. Good luck and take care

Thank you so much mommaj, sometimes ou just need to know that you are not alone. This episode is the worst in 14 years, plus the bipolar and depression. My rational mind knows that I will come out of it but when I am in the depths, it is so hard to have hope. Hold ont your ht but I am currently taking 8 mg of xanax and 3 mg of klonipan right now and i still feel tremors. I just started lamictal and celexa two weeks ago and I can feel a sligt improvement which is always a wonderful feeling. I have a great husband and family. I alos have a strong faith in God and wonderful church family that prays for me family. I dont know how peopledo it without Him. Imwill remember you in my prayers. Thank you so much. Please write me and let me know how you are. Hollyoweeney

Ive decided to ask my doc for Zolofy because that seems to be the best thing for breastfeeding mothers.
