I need help! My mother has been getting the usual runaround that doctors seem to like to give "old" people! They don't listen to her, she won't speak up when she needs to, she doesn't hear everything they say, etc. Long story short...I need to find her a really good geriatric doctor in the Humble, Texas/Kingwood area. Is there anyone that can recommend one to us???

Thanks!

Dear MSGJan,

If you have the experience that we did you may go through several frogs before you find a prince. If you have a treatment objective (which for us aging folks very often is comfort and quality of life), I believe it will make the selection process easier--that is you either find someone who will or won't go along with your treatment objectives. I suggest "Be cool" and in control and not desperate to find just any old doc. ( no pun intended!)

Perhaps this will give you a starting point. I used search term "geriartric specialists humble tx." Take care and good luck.

Dear MSGJan,

Just a note....

It looks like you can just click on the links in my reply. It sure is technical, isn't it!?

Thanks!

Jim
