Hi, I am Tjaard.

I have moderate deuteranomaly, so I didn't realize it when I was young.

I got a job when I was in my teens picking tomatoes, I only lasted 3 days!
I kept getting told off for leaving the 'obvious' ripe ones and for picking the green ones. (You're supposed to pick them when they have just turned from green to faint orange). Only later did I realize others could actually see the difference easily, at the time i thought it was just the fact i was new at it.

As an adult, I...

It does seem to be a pretty popular game amongst the color see-ers. I just started messing with them. Chartreuse perrywinkle . These are the answers i started giving. I dont even know what chartreuse is.
I know how to stop them now.
Color Un-Blind is an android app that answers the question for you. Just touch any part of a photo and Color Un-Blind tells you in simple names, what color it is. No hue saturation or augmented reality .
Hope it helps!...

Many military jobs require normal color vision. This is because there is some operational or safety aspect of the job that requires one to be able to distinguish between colors (indicator lights, smoke flares, etc.).

Because of this, color vision requirements are not waiverable for military jobs which require normal color vision.

The military defines normal color vision by use of one of three tests: the Pseudoisochromatic Plate (PIP) Set, Farnsworth Lantern (FALANT), or the OPTEC 90...

Hello,
I'm new to this site but very happy I found a support group for colorblind people. My story is probably a little different from anyone elses.....so here goes nothing.

I am 100% colorblind....as in I see only in black, white, and of course various shades of gray. However, I was not born this way....atleast not 100%. Doctors suspect that I had color deficit when I was born but I never noticed it until my brain disease took hold. Now all I can see is black and white. I was so upset when ...

Hey Andy.
I know exactly what you mean about people quizzing you on what colors things are. It bugs me soooooooooo much, especially when they ask stupid questions. I mean, it's not too bad if they ask a question regarding two colors that I can't see well. But I've gotten questions like, What color is the sky? or What color is the American flag? (Things I've learned since preschool age) I feel your annoyed-ness....

and another (not related) topic...Two weeks ago we added to the (now available on chrome too) the Groupon application that shows you the hottest daily deals in your town, every day. We received great feedback from the people using the toolbar so I suggest trying it out!!!

Hi everyone,

I am red-green colour blind and I have problems working out the difference between red/green, green/yellow, red/pink, blue/purple etc.

I'm really interested to know; what colour blindness do you suffer from and what particular colours do you get confused with? I must confess that the naivety shown towards suffers of colour blindness has come full circle on myself as I was stunned to find out how blue/yellow sufferers 'see' the world.

Particularly interested to talk to any ...

I was diagnosed at age 6 and always wanted to be in the military or do something exciting, I found that because I could not explain things properly I got ridiculed and told I was stupid, an idiot. So I gave up paying attention, this isolated me and through my life made me feel inferior and aggressive. Due to counselling about other things the topic popped up again, and was one of the root causes of my confidence, stress problems. I would love to tell people what colours the trees were, flowers, ...

Hi, I have not often had problems with colour blindness, but one has recently cropped up:-
An Icom battery charger has an LED that changes from orange to green when the battery is fully charged. Sounds simple, but I cannot tell the difference. I've tried looking through coloured plastic to no avail.
I have considered fitting 2 seperate LED's, but this would invalidate the warranty.
Any suggestions Please?...
