Getting tested today.... I have to see the surgeon anyway so the oncologist suggested I get the blood test to confirm while I'm in the city.

I'll update.

Closest Cancer Center is Philadelphia and I'm not really sure my insurance will cover it. So I made an appointment with an oncologist at GWU.

Right now I wish I lived closer to the city.... but I'll get over that as soon as I get back to normal. ;)...

Hi Becky,
Ya have to be your own advocate on all issues. Funny that the radiologists missed the appendix diagnose. Yep, better get this ironed out. Yea, My ileocecal valve has been gone sence 1976.
I had 2 Oncologists. One is Seattle that I had all my Cat Scans and Pet Scans and he would go over the Scans with me. I then took all results to my local Oncologists for review. Both are on the same page. I had all my Chemo treatments locally. So if that works for you that will be ideal..I figure bo...

Hey Tina,
There is a positive note.. CEA is going down.. That is huge.. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. It's not another train.. I do agree with you. Need to find another opinion. If the tumors have not done anything while on Chemo.. Then need to adjust some thing. Sounds like it's not working..
Glad he has a good job and hope he can handle it going through chemo. Just have to love the guy doin that...I sure hope he does well. Need remission! Oh yea ! Needs Remission.

Yes I hope it does work for him. He should try and suck on ice chips while taking infusion. It will help him with swallowing and senitivity to cold. It shrinks the blood vessels in the area so it minamizes the amount of chemical flow. It helped me..
I had the same pump to sleep with. Keep in touch....

Hi, Jadesphinx!

You mentioned that the docs and insurance companies claimed there was no such code . Then tell them to make one! I wouldn't normally say that, but a friend's late wife actually had to go through a lot of extra training to learn the codes the docs are talking about and all the details that went with them. This wonderful lady ended up working hard with the insurance company and actually managed to get a code created for a man who was quite ill and had the same difficulties i...
