Okay maybe the problem here is that now that I am not working I have started trying to watch more TV.... Last night that ever popular medical show Grey's Anatomy aired a storyline about a living donor transplant operation between sisters. I was kind of insulted that they made such a joke out of it. Nowhere was there any indication how serious this was, just alot of the donor complaining about what a nice thing they were doing, a bit about an esphogeal bleed after a yelling match by the recipient, and a "well we're all better now" ending after a RIDICULOUS surgery in which the surgeon spent more time singing to his wife than concentrating on the procedure. I know it is just a dumb TV show but I hate that it made light of such a serious situation, advanced liver disease and transplantation. I had hoped maybe they would have been more realistic and serious when I read the story line was to include a LDT. That's why I watched. Boy was I disappointed.  Take your time to smell the roses, and always follow your heart.
