More fluid – Hydrating, using a Neti pot and other fluid-based methods can help. Hydrating can assist by keeping the mucus within your nostrils thinner, which should help your body flush out allergens. Similarly, using nasal saline sprays and Neti pots can help unclog passageways and get rid of any allergens nestled against your nostrils’ membranes.

Herbal therapy – The British Medical Journal recently published an article in which researchers discovered that the herb butterbur had an almost identical therapeutic effect in alleviating allergies – without the usual grogginess that accompanies allergy medicines. Other herbal therapies that reduce symptoms of hay fever include teas or supplements made from nettle and angelica leaves.
