"My Daughter was born with this condition!!" (LEILANIMOMMA)

MDJunction to me

djfilippone"Before I found this site I felt so alone.  Watching my daughter struggle with IH and being treated like she had two heads from doctors.    I have plenty of family and friends but there was nobody that really knew what she was going through.
I not only have support and love from others who will listen and share their
story, but I have made some forever friends.  Having this support site does make a difference to many.

If your husband isn't having symptoms without the lactulose it is possible that he may not need it right now. Not Everyone does.If he is having symptoms I would sugest hiding it in something sweet.

There are many reasons someone may not need lactulose on a every day basis.

Early in my disease I would have Bad HE But it was usually caused by infections. I didn't need Lactulose every day.Of course as my disease progressed that changed.

If the cause of his Cirrhosis is treatable He may have some improvement and not need it it as often

If he is having episodes of HE and you just can't get it in him Ask the Dr about "xifaxan" Although it's usually given with Lactulose ,It works quiet well for some without Lactulose.

Hi nettymc, do what you can to get him to take his lactulose. Hide it in something if you need to. It is so important to take. If I miss one of my 3 doses a day I worry myself.

And on a side note, SSS was right on! To see someone wishes a new liver to fail went straight to my heart! What a waste of a great organ. Marriage takes two, you should look inside yourself for your share of the responsibility of a failed marriage and own it instead of always pointing elsewhere and wish no harm to another person.
