MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

Besides the slip disk and pinched nerve, apparently one of his falls left Jim with a cracked tail bone and a broken rib. Fortunately, he knew he needed rest when he stayed in bed these past three weeks. Most of the breaks have healed or are healing well. The problem is the pain patch. His doctor wants to stay with the 50 mcg Fentanyl at least one more month. He's able to function with this amount and participate with therapy. However, it is causing constipation, no matter how much Lactulose I give him. Really worried about HE and if it worsens. Right now, afraid to leave him alone for fear of him falling, again. He says he's fine then he is talking nonsense and not sure where we are. I will add he was lucid enough to tell me my blouse showed too much cleavage yesterday and would I not wear such things when his therapist is here.

Good News, Bad News? Wow! That explains, for sure, why he didn't want to do anything and complained about the pain so much. God Bless Him! As if he doesn't have enough problems to have broken bones? I've had a broken tail bone, Ouch!!!

Hang In There!

Happy Thoughts!

Is he eating enough that he has solids to eliminate?

One time when my HE was ramping up we were being proactive to prevent a black out episode. My doctor had me drink a 10 oz. bottle of magnesium citrate. That did the trick!!! I called it my soda pop. It is over the counter and comes in flavors.

six to eight weeks before my transplant I fell straight on my tailbone. It caused a compression fracture in line with the bottom of my shoulder blades. OOOWWWW That was the only pain I had after surgery as they wanted me to turn on my side etc. A year and a half later it still hurts when I sneeze.

Bless him

Peace be with you,

Mike

He's eating fairly well. I'll remember the magnesium citrate. Mike...are you being literal? Actually blacking out?

Yep....he has Ishamel, the OT and then Jenny, the PT. As sick as he is and then the green eye jealous monster comes out!

Yes, Jackie, April 28, 2009 I left work at around 3pm. The pastor came in to see me in the hospital either the 30th or 1st, in between??? Then September, 2010, I remember the wheel chair at the hospital, signing in with squiggles, then I said I wanted chocolate milk for lunch, then I thought there is a parking garage, in between and later???

I was mobile those times but had then and have now no recollection of the lost time.

Peace be with you,

Mike
