Had anyone used Megace or Marinol to stimulate their appetite. Jim has dropped two more pounds in the last week. Doctors are now worried he'll waste away even before his liver fails him. He convinced the spine specialist to keep him on the 50 mcg Fentanyl even though I know his HE is worse with it. He said he finally feels like he can get out of bed and move where before, even rolling over, caused extreme pain. He has a full bone scan on Monday. Perhaps they can finally figure out what is wrong with his back and a plan of treatment other than just treating the pain. Having a huge Father's Day cook out for him on Sunday and he told me he wants to stay in our room, and out of the way of family.

Some of the side effects are concerning also Such as increased bleeding risk and blood sugar.

Most side effect are rare but you should talk with his drs to be certain that the benefits out weigh the risk.
