Kim,

I'm Glad you're home. I know it's no fun. The last few months have been

hard for so many of the members.

Colitis can be especially difficult to deal with. The dehydration it can cause alone can cause worsening of HE. There are several causes of colitis, Did they test you for C-Diff. With a weakened immune system is a common cause of colitis for liver patients.

Take it easy and regain you strength.

Hi kim, indeed the feeling in the hospital is exactly like one is a "pin cushion" or needle cushion. We had bad luck with the attending nurse in the ER. Momma Cape is about 77 pounds now, no muscle, no fat, just a skeleton with a thin covering of skin. The nurse disrobed her as if she were a rag doll. I became concerned and told the nurse that it was difficult to get a line running and an IV Specialist was most often used. She roughly grabbed her right arm and hurt her a lot. That arm is now sore a week later. A bad apple may ruin a barrel but not the quality of care at the hospital. Everyone else in the ER and all of the floor shifts were wonderful. I do hope your being home has you feeling much better. There's no truer saying then: "There is no place like home." Good luck. J

I don't know guys, when I go to the hospital I say "I'm home" It feels like it sometimes anyway. But I'm in total agreement, I'd much rather be HOME! Luckily, last time since I was in there for a while they usually took blood from lines they already had in me.

Kim, I'm with you on the stage 3 HE and not knowing what they did. Hope you can get past this colitis thing!

Peace be with you,

Mike

Kim,

The only reason I ask is because C-diff is very contagious hard to get rid of and usually takes specific meds to treat.(Flagyl) being the main one.
