As most of you know i have hepatic encephalopathy. I can feel when my head is not in a good place or starting to go there. I feel a pressure building up in my head like to much data is coming in at one time.

Then i get irritable and so far the worst it has gotten since leaving the hospital is yelling. It scares me that it will one day get worse. much worse.

Does anyone else that has HE know when thier mind is

not going right.

Ann

I'm an Advocate

Ann,

I never know when it's going to happen , No real warning or feeling.

I did notice in the very beginning that I had trouble concentrating, My spelling became noticeably worse. (Thank God for spell check)And I just didn't care about most things as much.

As far as the yelling goes, My daughter swears that I pitched a fit one night at supper because the green beans were cold. First of all I did the cooking and I didn't fix green beans. LOL

But that's OK I can't remember it any way. It's a big joke now.

When we sit down someone will eventually say " Check the green beans"

Don't worry about what you can't change. Take your lactulose, and see your Dr. if infection or dehydration is a concern.

This is where our caregivers get GOLD STARS. They have to deal with us.

Aint that the truth. I have a friend from

my senior caregivers that comes over once

a week or so when she can and sits with me

and we crochet and visit. She sees it just

by talking to me. As I go way off base of

the original conversation and forget what

it was about to begin with. lol.
