In 2002 I broke my foot when I tripped and fell and someone fell on top of me. It healed normally and about a year later I was on a field trip with school and I got a stress fracture in my foot. When they casted me this time I was in it for almost a year and every time I went to my orthopedic doctor it was so swollen that they kept it on. Eventually they took it off my foot but I had constant pain that was only relieved if I could ever fall asleep. I went to another doctor, a pediatrist who gave up on me after three visits. I was then refered to a rhumetologist that checked me for RSD but her methods were so obsolete that even though her tests came back negative I had it and she did not diagnose me . Eventually we gave up for a while and I just saw a therapist.

While this was happening I was seeing a pain specialist at very large children's hospital for chronic head aches. When those were cured by medication my focus on my foot pain got worse and she finally diagnosed me with RSD?CRPS in 2007. I started to go to a physical therapist near me who did not know what he was dealing with and I pulled a muscle in my calf and the pain started there. needless to say I started going to PT in the hospital I was diagnosed. I also have started acupunture there which also seems to help.

Since I was diagnosed I have had six smypathetic pain block that have lasted between four and six months . After the last one I have in august I started having unbearable back pain at a level ten on the trusty 1 to 10 scale. Sine then it has subsided to a 6 but it never gets any better. I am considering going to any inpaitent treatment cent for a month or so where I would do Physical therapy for at least eight hours a day.

I am only seventeen and I am still in high school

Hello Chelseahelene,

Welcome to the group. I probably sound like an echo but it so unfortunate for someone so young to have had to go through so much pain.

We have a wonderfull group of people here who unfortunately like you have had to deal with alot of pain in their lives.

I look forward to getting to know you better and I hope you find relief from the pain soon.

Kardie

I'm not a Dr. and anything I write is my oppinion and my opinion only. I am just like you, I'm here for support and friendship from people who understand what I'm dealing with.
