MDJunction to me

carmen33"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

I've recently had a tentative diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis made. I'm 47. I've known that I have arthritis since I was in my 20s. My husband died in November. About three or four months ago, my health took a nosedive. I have hypertension which is new. So far, I'm on five meds with no success. My arthritis kicked up big time. I'm taking vicodin and nothing else because my primary caretaker want the rheumatologist to work on the meds and a firm diagnosis. The vicodin only serves to make the pain bearable some days. This is all new to me and seems to have worsened so quickly. I had to move out of our house in January because I can't work and could not afford the rent there. My kids are all not happy with me because I refused to move by any of them. I am glad for their concern, but I have to live my own life. I have not told them about this recent development. It will rock their worlds as my grandmother went through this so they know what it brings. I'll wait until I have a firm diagnosis before I do that. In the mean time, I do have some support through one of my sisters, one of my brothers, and my friends. My sister has Fibromialga abd can relate that way. My best friend has RDS and can relate that way. I just want to shore up my support system which is why I'm here in this group.

Welcome Steph, I'm sorry about the loss of your husband. It sounds like your having a very rough time. Its good that you have support from family and friends and now from all your new friends here. Good luck in your search for a new home. I hope you find a med that works for you soon so you can start to feel better.

I too am sorry to hear about your husband.

I understand your children's concern about you not being close to them. But, you are right too, you need to have your own life. -- Should the time come though... you know that they will always be there for you.

I'm glad you have some support. Often times, people don't have family and/or friends that understand. (In my case, I have family that understands. But, no friends. Sad which makes me really sad.)

Glad you found our site! There are lots of great people here. Everyone is really good at offering feedback, support, and just good genuine kindness. -- Welcome!
