Hi-my name is Susan.I am 34 and joined mdjunction back in August.I became sick back in 1997.At the time was having stomach issues and then weird aches and pains. The rhematologist diagnosed me with fibromyalgia.

Yrs passed, saw a bunch of drs over this time.In 2004 I had my proper diagnosis of Lyme dz.Unfortunately since many yrs passed without proper treatment-the pain and other symptoms have not only gotten worse, but I have done tons of research and found that this bacteria may always be in me.

For yrs-I hid many of my medical issues from family and friends.I suppose I still do.Sometimes I feel people that dont have these type of problems dont really understand or will get sick of hearing about it.

As far as the pain goes, the back has always been the worst.Although over time almost all areas have been affected-my knees, legs, hands, feet.Started getting neuropathic pain yrs ago, mostly in my feet.Numbness,tingling,burning,lovely.

As the lyme progressed and spread through out- many other issues have surfaced, esp in the mental aspect including anxiety/depression/sleep issues.I could write a novel about this, but I'll be good.

So-here I am.Just took a medical leave from work-to try and sort myself out.I also lost a very dear relative that I loved in August and things went down from there. So now I am due to go back to work in a few wks.

Mentally feeling better (meds are sorted out),but physically I am so tired and the pain is relentless. The issue Im dealing with is trying to have these meds in me (pain meds, anxiety, antidepressant)and still function and not feel like a zombie.

Thanks for reading.I look forward to being a part of this group.susan
