MDJunction to me

MissNikkiAnn"When you have an illness with the name "Non-Familial Dysautonomia" (a name that most people, and even doctors, have never heard of), you need a network
of people who understand the name and the symptoms/issues that come with it.
MDJunction led me to that network of people during a very confusing and sickly time. For this I am thankful. And for this reason I try my best to give back to other members the same care and help that I received through MDJunction.

Hi, Everyone!

I have been diagnosed with RSDS, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, cancer and fibromyalgia. I am a single mom with two great kids. They are great helpers, but I get lonely for adult conversation. I can't get out of the house now that I am permanently disabled, so I am looking forward to talking with you. I look forward to getting to know you. Smile

I'm an Advocate

Hi Sunflower!

Welcome to the forum. I hope you will find that you get some wonderful help for whatever you need here. More than anything, it's a great place to connect with others. It sounds like you've had a lot to deal with, so I can sympathize! It seems like most of our profiles have a TON of diagnoses, which sometimes makes me at least feel like less than a me, and just a list of abbreviations or words! LOL

I hope you have a great weekend, and try to concentrate on your kids and what you have instead of what you don't have!

*hugs*

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help. I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

Something has changed within me/Something is not the same/I'm through with playing by/The rules of someone else's game/Too late for second-guessing/Too late to go back to sleep/It's time to trust my instincts/Close my eyes and leap...I'm through accepting limits/Cuz someone says they're so/Some things I can not change/But till I try I'll never know/Too long I've been afraid of/Losing love I guess I lost/Well if that's love/It comes at much too high a cost/I'd sooner buy Defying Gravity/Kiss me good-bye I'm Defying Gravity/I think I'll try Defying Gravity/And you won't bring me down...

Thank you for the welcome! I know this is going to sound strange, but I am probably the happiest I have been in a long time. While my health isn't good, I have my two children and God. Oh sure, I have the occassional day where I am down, but they are few and far between. However, even though I have my children, that does not stop an individual from craving adult conversation or from wanting to talk to someone that understands, so I am thrilled to have found this site.

That is so true sunflower and just because you have pain it does not mean you cannot be happy or have God in your life I am sure that is how you remain happy is with God.. And yes even though you have children that does not mean you do not need adult conversation we all need that..I look forward to getting to know you more and as you will learn I love to talk and be talked too...so feel free to do either.. 257 20762 b Walk by Faith Posters

Hi Sunflower, I know exactly what you mean by adult conversation. Isn't it great? I find such stimulating talk here at MDJ. I learn things, I ponder things, and I try to share things. I hope you are having a good day. Hugs
