Guess, that's not going to happen; so, I'm struggling to find my "New Normal". It's been a long process, but as of the last couple of years, my diagnoses have been (on top of Chronic Migraine Disease) Eosinophilic Esophagitis, Chronic Pancreatitis, and Addison's Disease. Oh, I already was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, too. I've had to give up my career as a Dental Hygienist Sad . something I've fought against for 6 yrs; but I became too ill and was let go from my last job. I'm waiting to hear from my attorney on a hearing date set by SS for disability at this point. I'm to see a new group of Dr's i n palliative pain care, who are a branch of hospice, but for living/long term chronic pain sufferers. I'm hopeful after my in hospital consult with these Dr's. I really liked them and they seem to be really compassionate, yet truly interested in treating the "whole" me. I see them next week. They tweaked my pain patch and some of my other meds while in the hospital last week and I think I can already tell a difference to the good. I'm ready for it! Cool Will keep you posted as to what happens ...

Thanks for listening. Smile

I'm an Advocate

Hi

I'm sorry to hear what a challange your life has become. I think the pallative pain group sounds like a blessing from God. I read many posts where people don't even have descent primary Dr.'s available.

I know what you mean about wishing for the old life. As misserable as I am now, I know someday I'll look at this as the "good old days" wishing I were back here.

My conditions are chronic and progressive. I can't let myself think of the future.

Update on Palliative Care Group : WOW! Awesome group of people. Thanks Kardie & Ginag. Smile Very compassionate, gentle, Drs & supporting staff. I see the pain psychologist Monday. The doctor even complimented me on my new hair cut! How many usually care enough to notice? He also worked on my neck & back, some. Which was greatly needed & appreciated. He does craniosacral work, too, which helps my Migraines. A wonderful experience thus far! My former internist who is now my hospitalist usually when I get admitted, asked me to give them a try & as usual, he's never steered me wrong. In fact, he's help reroute me a couple of times when I was spinning my wheels with a couple of Drs that I'd been established with prior to my relationship with him. I miss him & have yet to replace him yet, though he gave me a name of another internist he went to Med school with & was in the top of his class along with my former Dr.

I've had sooo many changes the past year ... my internist left the practice to become a hospitalist, as did two of my endocrinologists back to back, then my wonderful Migraine Specialist. I've replaced my EndoC … one down, two to go! I wish all of you could have Dr's & supporting staff like the Palliative Care Group. It would be even better if we didn't need them at all! Wink
