Hello all and I want to welcome the new members. I apologize in that I usually respond to all the new posts that I can, however, as of late I seem to have lost that ability. I have been in terrible pain and my meds are not working. I went for an eight day stent that I basically spent most the time crying and trying to find an comfortable position. I also had little or no sleep.

I have been reading some of the posts and instead of feeling a sense of comraderie I felt alone and as if no one would understand. My latest news is that I am most likely going to lose my home. So I will not be able to entertain even the idea of another back surgery.

I have felt a sense of helplessness, inadequacy, and simply the thought "I have lost". This means the ability to be a good mother wife and provider for the family. Yes even though I am the wife I was the main provider for the family. I have, in addition, lost my faith. I remember the day I gained it and the day I lost it.

I do not have any encouraging things to say to anyone any longer but atleast I do have feelings of sadness over that, currently, which is an improvement over last week.

My apologies for the lack of uplifting support I have tried to give in the past, whoever that was she is lost. It is the poem "Solitude". That poem has always rung true at so many stages of my life.

Hoping less pain for you all today.

Sondra

Good Morning Sondra,

Reading your post brought tears to my eyes. My heart brakes for you and I wish there were something I could do or at least say to ease your pain and suffering.

My father died when I was 3, leaving my Mother with 5 children aging from 13 to 3, with no home as we lived in company house and had to move. Living in a small town everyone knows everyone and her faith and friends helped her through. She had to work very hard but she did manage to keep her family together. This of course was many years ago, but I just told you this because I don't want you to give up hope.

Please hang in there, You have many friends here. I will be praying for your recovery.

Kardie

I'm not a Dr. and anything I write is my oppinion and my opinion only. I am just like you, I'm here for support and friendship from people who understand what I'm dealing with.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through so much. Could you call your dr. about your pain meds not working?

Hang in there sweetie. LOTS of gentle hugs to you.

sondra,

I am so sorry for your pain and worries. I am sure your load is heavy.

You talked about your meds not working anymore. Do your meds include pain meds? Can you call and talk with your doc about increasing, changing, or adding to your current meds?

If your illness is not controlled neither will much of anything else. This includes pain. Once there is some control of this, one can face challenges easier.

hronic illness affects all aspects of our lifes. Hold on dear. One thing at a time. I would say 1st thing should be a talk with your doc for control.

As far as faith. God understands and loves you the same.

Many, many hugs
