Hi, I thought I would join this group to get more information on pain. I have had fibro for alot of years and in 2010 I fell at work and tore the hamstring off my pelvis bone. Had surgery to put it back on the bone and it came off again. This time I can't seem to get rid of the pain in my leg. My fibro doesn't help the muscles in my leg feel any better. I have been on Lyrica, oxycodone, butran patches, fetenal patches and a host of other meds and as of this writing I am on savella. It seems to be working so far with little side effects. I guess I can count myself lucky that the side effects are not too bad. In the last 3 weeks I have had extreme pain in my other leg down the outside of the leg like someone is sticking hundreds of needles in my leg. I don't know if this is from the cyatic nerve or what but I get so tired of going to the dr. with more things wrong. Does it ever quit? I think my husband is really trying hard to understand but sometimes he just doesn't want to hear about it. I want to thank you for listening. Thank you for being here to vent a little frustration. Have a good day with no pain. Smile

Nice to "meet" you butterfly. Sorry you have problems with chronic pain. I am kind of new to this group too but I am finding out there are a lot of helpful people here. Just to share "our pain" helps. Especially when our family seems to not understand us. I have had a sciatic type pain down my leg so I know what you are talking about and sympathize. I have two types of pain to contend with..fibromyalgia and periferal neurapathy. I am 73 and have had fm most of my life. It has went into remission at times and roared its ugly head at others. Weather, stress, and other illnesses seem to affect it. It does help to "talk" with others so hopefully you will feel better and know you are not alone. Take care!

This is a great group of people and they really care. Just like you my husband is getting tired of hearing me say that I am getting pain in a new place. Plus I have other medical problems and he is very tired of taking me to doctors. So finding this group and complaining about my problems or asking for help has really helped. It's been 10 years with RSD for me and many other problems. I hope they can help you like they helped me.

Thanks for sharing your story. I too, have Fibro, and have tried a bunch of different meds. At the moment, the only thing left for me to try is the Savella. Which I've been putting of because of hearing so many horror stories of the side affects. So, it's good to hear that 'someone' is managing pretty good being on it. I hope it continues to work well for you.

Also, I know we have quite a few newbies here in the group. I want to take a minute to welcome you all! This group is great, with some truly wonderful people in it. Smile

Update; Just to let you all know. I have been approved for ssDisability. I still can't believe it. I have not worked for over a year and this will be a God send to us. Thank you all for your hugs and prayers. I stopped taking Savella because I was having heart palpataions and racing heart. It wasn't working anymore anyway. Now I am just on oxycodone till I can get with another Dr. because they cancelled my insurance through work in Feb. Got a hearing for healthnet Wed. so maybe that will help also. Keep praying for me and my husband. Thank you for listening. You guys are great.
