MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

For those with knee issues, what do you do to help the achiness and cramps in them?

Sometimes I think we all must look like the elderly.lol I am glad we can deal with things positively.

I wear knee braces. Take alot of medications and my husband bought me a chair for the shower and I just sit there and let the hot water run on my knees.

Thanks for the response. It seems like I have more parts with pain than parts w/o pain.lol I just am going to look like I robbed a CVS. I have so many braces and pain patches. I even have all kind of ointments.lol Maybe I should put a sign on my door for pain patients. lol

I'm an Advocate

I like the Therapeutic heat pads that you put on. They give like 8 ours of heat, and they don't stink! I love that!! I think they are made by ThermaCare? They make all sorts of head pads or patches or whatever. I love them!

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help. I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

I agree with fluffy. I use ThermaCare heat pads for my knees, back, and shoulders. For my back I like to use the ones that are used for menstrual cramps. They are the perfect size for the area in my back that causes the pain. And feel much more comfortable than the regular back pads. Plus they are cheaper and I get more pads than the regular back ones.

My knee braces are because I have osteo arthritis and baker's cycsts in my knees. I where the especially trying to walk out side. I got for christmas something called Spa spots (patches) I won't recommend them because the seem to roll up. Because with any patches that you use especially those with little dogs and little child. Some of my prescribed one also had that problem and if a dog or child puts these in there mouths they can get very ill. I have two small dogs and one eats all the underwear he can get in the house. That is why I given this caution. I did even know when the patches come off. I would see something before the dog Flex is he name gets to it and it was a patch that rolled off.

Thanks for telling me that. I also have small dogs obviously. I dont want them to get sick. I also have bakers cysts and spasms in my knees. I dont know if I have arthritis in them yet. I think the spsasms and Baker cysts are the main problem. I have used the thermacare pads for my neck. I never thought about using them for my knees. Duh, that would make too much sense.
