Dit"I've been a grateful member here for over 4 yrs this place has changed my life of course for the better, coming to the groups has enabled me to no longer feel so alone. As a group leader for the Bipolar Support group I can relate to others and am expressing my experience strength and hope and this is very rewarding, I've also made many supportive friends here whom I talk to some daily. I used to have a lot of 'lows' since becoming member here at MdJunction I no longer have these lows." (Dit)

Even after such a short time? I started taking gabapentin a few months ago and my leg is all cold again... I mean, REALLY!?! It's 95 degrees here in the shade during the day... I understand how having taken my 800mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day for like more than a decade makes me not as responsive to it... but I just started this stuff... Can you all tell me what's going on?

Hi jrauls,

The medicine will help with the pain, but the regulation of body temperature can't be regulated by the meds. The circulation and lack of oxygen to the affected areas have not been altered by the meds.and the circulatory system is impaired. Meds help with pain period. The rest is unfortunately not so easy to mask.I hope this helps you understand the complications

of chronic pain.

Take care,

scorpioj

most meds wear off after a little bit of time but i am not if what you are describing really has what to do with the meds.

I agree- most meds tend to wear off after time. But, I too, am not sure about the coldness you're experiencing. I take it that the Gabapentin that you're taking is supposed to help with that? If so, that's really strange that you're already experiencing a difference with it.

I would suggest that you call your doctor and get back in to see him/her. -- Please keep us informed.
