Hello! I have had a horrible pain in my upper LEFT shoulder blade area for 8 months now...and it radiates down into my mid and lower left back. The pain started about 2 1/2 weeks after a severe whiplash injury. My MRI and xrays appear normal. I have been to 2 diff chiropractors, 2 diff physcial therapists, acupuncture, massage, pain meds...I tried it all and nothing worked..... All my docs told me it was musculoskeletal and I would grow out of it...but I didnt believe them and demanded to see a pain specialist... one of them even told me it was in my head.

Finally, after 6 months of waiting...I was able to see a pain specialist. He gave me a steroid spinal injection at C6-C7 and this helped a lot (then I had a 2nd injection 2 weeks later), it was A LOT better for a few weeks....but now the pain is getting bad again... I am getting a third injection in 2 weeks. I hope it helps even more (but my doc says I can only get 4 a year).

Does anyone have any experience with multiple epidurals??

It hurts the most to sit, and then when I stand up the pain seems to decrease...the pain also radiates into my mid and lower back (it is all on one side)....On bad days I would rate the pain a 6. Its always the worst at night and best in the morning. I am SOOO tired of being in pain all of the time.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so..does it ever go away!? I am only 23! I dont want to live the rest of my life like this. I am considering surgery if it will help and if these injections stop working to make the pain go away...
