I just found this "There are special laboratory tests to culture the virus but such testing is difficult, expensive and not widely available. Specific blood tests can be helpful to the physician in making a diagnosis or determining if a person has been exposed but the results are sometimes inaccurate." What makes you think you have that? What does your doc say?

not that I know of..Chronic Fatigue is used when they have no laboratory findings to base a diagnosis on...However I am not a doctor, that's just what I have learned from reading..Has your doc tested for EBV? Correctly, I mean, since most doctors don't have a clue. I see a Neurologist with a specialty in Immunotherapy..most of his pt's have MS or Lupus. I am VERY lucky to have found this doctor..that's how knew what kind of specific tests to run.

I don't think there is a test for it. I haven't well for 3yrs & just found out I have all this crap but it is a good question. When I go in to see her I will ask what makes her think I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

The doctor has to do an EBV titer test, make sure she includes the nuclear number. My neuro looked at all my other bloodwork from other docs ever since I was first dx'd and not even 1 of them tested that. VERY IMPORTANT. That is why people with EBV can collect disability..there are laboratory findings..high EBV titers.
