Hello everyone,

I recently went to see a new doctor for diagnosis and treatment of lyme disease. The dr did many tests including one for EBV. I have not gotten most of my results back yet, but I have gotten these...

My norepinephrine is low and my GABA is high....?

The carbon dioxide level in my blood is low...?

My absolute cd19 + lymphs are high...?

My c reactive protein is about seven times the normal range...?

LDL Cholesterol is slightly elevated... pretty sure I know what that means.

EBV Ab VCA, IgM is <0.2 .... negative

EBV Early Antigen Ab, IgG is >8.0... High (positive is >1.0)

EBV Ab VCA, IgG is >8.0... High (positive is >1.0)

EBV Nuclear Antigen Ab IgG is >8.0... High (positive is >1.0)

EBV interpretation chart states...

+ = anitbodies present - = antibodies absent

Susceptible:

VCA-IgM -

EA-IgG -

VCA-IgG -

NA-ABS-

Acute Infection:

VCA-IgM +

EA-IgG +or-

VCA-IgG +or-

NA-ABS -

Convalescent Phase:

VCA-IgM +or-

EA-IgG +or-

VCA-IgG +

NA-ABS +

Chronic or Reactivated - + + +or-

VCA-IgM -

EA-IgG +

VCA-IgG +

NA-ABS +or-

Old Infection

VCA-IgM -

EA-IgG -

VCA-IgG +or-

NA-ABS +

I have not had a consult with the doctor so I have no idea what any of this really means. Can any of you give me any insights?

Thank you!

Jacki

Don't understand why your Dr. isn't discussing results with you. I went to

an infectious disease specialist years ago. He treated me for Lyme Disease

& when that didn't work concluded that it really was EBV. After that he

dropped away. I felt pretty much abandoned. Sorry I can't give you more

info but I would insist on answers from that Dr.

Hey Jack,

I don't really know that means but I think Wishes is right. The doctor should tell you what this means for your body. Going off the knowledge of the basic immune response of IgG and IgM, your long term antibodies are there for ebv. You must have had it previously. (You probably already knew that.) The IgM was positive in the acute phase. Just from acute infections you want the IgM to be negative. It looks like most of them are. I think that is a good sign.. I really dont have the knowledge to go any further unforunately. Maybe post it on the Pheonix rising cfs site. You may get some more info. My knowledge is pretty limited unfortunately.

David
