I was recently diagnosed with chlamydia. To be completely honest, I was shocked. I haven't always exercised the wisest decision making, but I haven't been with too many men and I have always trusted (or so I thought) the ones I was with. And then the test came back positive. What really gets to me, is I can't figure out who I got it from. It could have been as far back as 3-4 years ago. I talked to my doctor about it and he doesn't think it was that long ago or he thinks I would have shown symptoms or been in pain by now, but all the research on the internet seems to say otherwise. I want to handle this responsibly. I'm worried that if I have had it for years, that I've got PID and don't even know about it. How do I know if I should be worried about it? Is there anyone to find out if I am sterile? Do you think if I'd had it for that long I would have noticed it sooner? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. |
