Smile Well I definately survived, which was a big fear for me. I mean when you hear that someone is cutting away skull and the protective layer of the brain called the dura, it is pretty darn scary. All in all my fear wasn't what I'd feel after, it was the fear of dying and leaving my husband and kids. I know some people who have had the surgery must have felt the same type of fear.

But with God in my corner and a wonderful neurosurgeon and my stubborness to survive, I have done more then survive. The day of waking up from surgery, I have to be honest was very difficult. But the next day I felt a little better, and better with each passing day it continued to get better. After 5 days in the hospital I was elated to come home.

I think the first week I was still euphoric of coming through the surgery better then expected and being home that was great. The next few weeks have been off and on. I also live with fibromyalgia, arthritis, bursitis, PTSD, anxiety and depression. The anxiety and depression has been high. I know it is early since surgery, but I expected to continue to improve at a steady pace. My doctor did a wonderful surgery and my incision site looks great. But my energy is still low and I have bad headaches. But on the upside I had immediate improvment with my right arm right from the get go. So I know even at that, my surgery was a success. I have no regrets doing it.

I hope I will have someone to converse with here soon.

Hugs,

Jenn

I just want to let you all know that I am just like you, a regular person. I am not a doctor or a therapist, but I do promise to be there and listen as often as I can.
Hugs and Peace,
Jenn
