Hi,

I know I read somewhere the a certain percentage of those with Celiac Disease are seronegative. Have just had an extenive search using Google, but no luck, I could not find the info.

Does anyone know what the percentage is?

I'm an Advocate

Hello there.

I had to look up seronegative since I had never heard the word before. I find it interesting as it has to do with arthritis (at least my search came up with that). What is interesting about this is that arthritis can be worsened or inflamed by nightshades. Nightshades are a grouping of particular edible plants that some can be allergic to. These include potatoes, eggplant, tomatoes, and peppers and chiles. There is a theory out there that people that have allergies to one thing can easily be allergic to many other things. I myself am allergic to gluten and nightshades. I ache all over as if I had arthritis (I have not been diagnosed as is yet with arthritis)when I eat a nightshade plant.

hope this info is interesting to you...even though it isn't answering your question.
