MDJunction to me

fluffyluggage"I found MDJunction at a time when I was struggling with so much. I
was so sick. I found a home, a place where people understood me, when
even my family doubted me. In MDJ, I found a place of refuge, love,
and support. I come here daily, to find my balance, to cope, and to
find that same support I've found from day 1. MDJ is my new family.
The friends I've made here will remain with me for a lifetime.

If anyone else has run into this problem, please share! I have only recently (Dec '09) been diagnosed with CD. I'm also a Type 1 diabetic.

I've been trying super hard to do the whole g/f thing properly. But I just seem to keep feeling tired and not really as good as I hoped I would after going g/f.

Most of the food I eat I try to eat as packaged and make sure the label says it's GF. But I picked some stuff up that says GF on the front of the box. But then after looking at the label on the back it says "produced in a facility that processes wheat, soy, and other stuff." So how can this be? It's either GF or it's not right? So now I'm doing more research on foods that are 110% GF. I now feel like I may have been contaminating myself. Is it possible that some companies say it's GF just to make the money and not really be concerned with the overall health of the public that's eating it? OMG- I want to give them such a piece of my mind!

I don't buy products that say produced in a factory blah, blah, blah.I learned early on.I bought something and I did not feel good afterwards.I've become quite anal about it.I read everything and am careful of what I cook in as well.I have my own set of pans for GF cooking.

Thank you for the advice! My family is very supportive with the GF food. We now eat all GF pastas and sauces. Found some really good pasta that does not require rinsing in cold water and it tastes just like regular pasta.

As for the writing on the labels....I'm almost convinced I should start cooking more "scratch" recipes so I know I'm not getting contaminated. I'm not much of a cook....yet! But I guess this is going to be a learn-as-I-go process.

Thank you again!

I'm still learning.I found a good pasta product thats made of corn, not brown rice.I much perfer that.It took awhile to find a good bread mix thats tasty but yet not crumbly.Everything is trial and error. Some meals I can do GF for entire family and some I cannot.

We have some recipes here that we posted that we liked.I forget what they are under, but I'm sure someone can direct you there.
