Hello! new to this group, but i have been in several others for awhile. i joined here cuz i've been reading about cataracts. i have to take steroids all the time and just learned that long term steroid use causes cataracts. most people get them with age but steroid use can make you get them sooner. i already have problems with my eyes, map-dot-fingerprint dystrophy, fuch's dystrophy, astigmatism. had keratechtomy(sp) in both eyes at different times. right now left eye is ok but right eye still has episodes. so now besides having corneal defects i might get cataracts??!!was hoping to talk to someone who knows about living with visual impairment. |
