after years of trying all the antifungals like threelac, oregano, capryl, etc, my doc put me on 100mg daily of Fluconazole. Like most, I have spent a ton of money and gone to lots of doctors looking for help. I found a specialist md who has been treating candida successfully for years. So I am trying his way and it is tough. Wow, the die off. First 9 days was ok, then I hit the wall with die off. I waited 2 days and jumped on it again for 9 days and then major die off again. I am to do salt baking soda baths and take 1/2 tsp of baking soda when I have die off. I have had a ton of tests over the years: hormone good, thyroid good, adrenal ok, stess low etc. What has worked over the years best is GSE for a couple of years, then threelac for 3 years, then oregano and threelac. The problem is my restricted diet is mostly protein and vegetables. How boring. My doc says you will never get rid of systemic candida using my protocol. Fluconazole has been used successfully for millions of patients. So I guess I just need to be patient with this treatment.

Anyone else experience going through using this drug???

Hmmm.... I have to ask what you are doing to alter your diet? Medicine is a great cover-up, not a cure. Band-Aid on a gunshot wound sort of thing. Yes, Fluconazole will knock out a lot of the fungus, but if you haven't drastically changed the way you eat... it will only come back with a vengeance.

The Doc is right in saying you'll never get rid of candida using your protocol... that is if you've not been eating an anti-fungal diet. Candida can run faster than you can, faster than oregano, faster than anti-fungals, faster than probiotics...

It's caused by antibiotics, encouraged by the standard American diet (SAD) high in sugar & wheat carbs. And that is what you need to address. There are no miracle concoctions... sorry, but I've been there, done that.

I've been eating an extremely strict diet from HEALING NATURALLY by Bee Wilder. I take 5 Tbsps of Virgin Coconut Oil per day, eat mostly GREASY MEAT & some low carb veggies. NO sugar, flour, fruits, most veggies, sodas, artificial sweeteners, anything in a box, most stuff from a can, no rice, no corn products, no seeds, no grains, no vegetable oils, no margarine. A lot of no no no!!! But I am reaping the benefits of this way of life. At 57 yrs old, I feel better than I did at 35. And I am happier.

It takes a lot of trial & error to finally realize that YOU and only you have the power to reach good health, truly good health. Best wishes. Luci

thanks for your thoughtful reply. Yes, we are eating the same way. It has been 30 years of trial and error. Protein and vegetables are my diet. My doc is a MD, DO, and MDH who has treated thousands. In my case, 100 mg is all I seem to handle of this drug per day. I tried it my way for years and as he said you will never kill the systemic candida only the ones in the gut. That was my problem. If I cheated is a little way like too much yogurt from the health food store or too many sunflower seeds it would come back. So carbs are a bare minimum to me. Not my doc but one who also treats candida is Doc Jacob Teitelbaum MD. He claims to have treated over 3000 people successfully finds this drug to have few side effects. Google his protocol. It sounds good and encouraging. I will take a a break for a day, add more threelac, more bacillus C and continue on my path to wellness with fluconazle. Like I said, oregano and threelac worked ok for the last year but I could not cheat or I was in trouble. Mind you, I do not ever eat anything with sugar or rarely eat wheat, fruit or grains.

Years ago I did cure myself but not sure exactly what I did. At one time I started taking Sporanex with capryl, apple cider vinegar and any other antifungal I could find. etc. I didn't stay on the Sporanex long because of all the scare tactics on line. However, I was cured for about a year but not sure what I was doing 20 years ago. Soon I started really going off my diet and really eating the wrong food and It came back. Then I went on 30 drops 2x daily of GSE for a few years and that was great. I then added threelac and did sail for 3-4 years. The problem,is the candida never goes away in my case. So now I will try this the big guns and see. I am getting a lot of encouragement.

thanks

I did 97 days on Fluconazole. I am disappointed in the results. Now I am on coffee enemas to correct my liver/stomach hurt, and back to natural antifungals like yeast cleanse, coconut oil, gse, etc.

I am also treated for liver functions at my accuptuncture doc
