Hey, I'm Libby and I'm so happy that I found a place where I can share my problems with my eating disorder and hopefully get some support!

Welcome Libby! You came to the right place for support. Are you bulimic, anorexic or both? I was both so I can relate. Talk to me anytime!!

I'm just bulimic. I was anorexic at one point back when I thought it was "cool" to have an ED but that was short lived once I discovered throwing up. I first started throwing up every once in a while 7 or 8 years ago but have been actively bulimic (throwing up pretty much once a day if not more) for 4 years now. I've never been in recovery but lately I have been feeling very out of control and know that I need help and/or support.

Have you ever thought about seeing a counselor?

Yes. I was going to a psychologist for about a year due to a bout of depression I had and my eating disorder came up. It was nice because I started doing better but I can't afford to see him anymore since I'm in school. I haven't been to him in a year or two. I liked going though!

I really liked going to, I hated to stop but after 5 years we figured it was time! There are some that will do it on a sliding scale meaning they will work with what you can pay. I don't mean to be pushy about it, just giving you some ideas. Are you at college now? I think that's even tougher than high school!

Pretty much. I went for a year then took some time off but now I am about to start back in the fall semester. It is hard! It's definitely easier to continue with an ED because you're more independant and away from home a lot more than in HS. I know I can't stay with my parents forever but when they're around I don't purge as much. I want to live on my own but I shouldn't because I know what I'll be doing with that much freedom :-

Maybe a room mate might help, someone who you are comfortable with and can trust. Living on your own can be an eye opening experience and could help with your eating disorder. You never know. I moved back home when my dad developed brain cancer and stayed until about 8 years after he passes away thinking I was helping my mom but found out it was making me worse instead.

Well even though my folks get on my nerves sometimes (lol) I'm pretty sure I'll be here until I get finished with school, which will be 3 years so hopefully that will help. I probably won't get my own place until after school because I don't want to go into too much debt with student loans! I am going to bed now but I hope to taalk with you more tomorrow! Hope you had a good 4th
